Donald Trump Golf Swing Sucks

While some golf instructors put their tongues deep up Donald Trump’s ass analyzing his crappy swing and proclaiming how good it is, I will reveal why it sucks.
It’s why his handicap is bullshit.
He’s a known cheater. The serious flaws in Trump’s swing means he will always have a problem breaking 80 even with a good short game and a tall physique that allows him to hit a golf ball a decent distance just due to his height.
THE FLAW in Trump’s swing is simple, his spine angle at address sucks so his swing is off plane and it results in his shoulders being almost flat or parallel to the ground at the top of his back swing. His head is almost over his toes at address and it is not bent forward enough and he has an instant inside move due to no resistance in his swing between his lower body and upper body. This results in a crappy position of his hands below his shoulders at the top of his back swing which is way below where a good swing should be. Just look at the images of the numerous pro golfers below, all have high hands and a lead shoulder well below their back shoulder. The forward head at address of pros creates a 45 degree spine angle at address and the almost 45 degree shoulder angle at the top of their swings. This is pro shoulder plane, while hand position varies at the top horizontally, a pros hands vertically are always above their shoulders and usually even or above their heads. Hogan had hands even with the top of his head, most great pros go way above their heads to create the highest arc in a modern golf swing.
The image below of Trump shows how flat Trump’s shoulders are at the top of his back swing as well as how low his hands are. The other images show all types of pros, all with high hands all with shoulders with a steep 45 degree angle. Next to the pro IMPACT POSITION, these two things (High hands and 45 degree shoulders at top) show up in every solid pro golf swing from young pros like Spieth, to middle aged pros like Tiger and even senior golfers like Freddy and Daly. John Daly is even fat like Trump yet his hands get high above his head and his shoulders have the pro angle.
Before my back was destroyed in an accident a couple of years ago (13 injured discs with 5 herniated discs and 10 impingement’s) I routinely qualified for the US Senior Open qualifiers. When I was 30 almost 30 years ago, I was measured at a controlled club head speed of 135mph which is 10mph faster than the top tour pros today and about 10mph slower than the animals that do long drive contests where 145mph just gets you in the game if you can deliver it squarely and the freaks all hit 155mph on a top swing.

Bottom line, Trump is horribly off plane in his golf swing and has been his whole life, any golf instructor saying he has a good swing is a clown. Yeah Leadbetter that’s you.
Trump does have an excellent IMPACT POSITION which allows him to shoot low 80’s level golf on a good day, but his horrible position at top means too many pieces have to be in sync to move into a proper IMPACT POSITION so he will never be that consistent in his full shots, so Trump’s athletic move at impact plus his tall height means he should have enough distance to score but his overall bad position at top means he has a hacker level consistency and difficulty breaking 80.
No golfer who broke 70 easily ever had such flat shoulders and hands below their shoulders at the top of a swing. So the bad head position at address and quick inside move and over active lower body at start of the swing have been ingrained into Trump’s swing his whole life and that is why his 3 handicap was always a joke, it’s probably the biggest vanity handicap anyone ever carried. Since we all know Trump is delusional and believes his own lies, this manifested in his crappy swing never be fixed by real teaching pros who would have shredded the fat ego of Trump and just told him, look you have serious flaws in your swing so other than an occasional bomb in the short grass due to his height you are doomed to hit mostly BAD GOLF SHOTS.
Donald Trump has a crappy golf swing period and that’s why he cheated to break 80 his whole life. Too many moves on the downswing to get into a proper IMPACT POSITION. A better position at the top from a proper address position and proper resistance between the upper and lower bodies means less moves into a good IMPACT POSITION so a more consistent swing.
A good or pro level golf swing have a few consistent things, at address pros all have their heads way past their toes like they are leaning into the ball, this is from the 45 degree spine angle at address, then at the top of their swings the 45 degree spine angle creates a 45 degree shoulder plane and high hands. Then at impact position pros all have great weight transfers resulting in 45 or higher degree open hips pointing at the target and a back heel well off the ground. So once you understand the common things every good golf swing has, you understand why after years of hitting over a million balls, the best golfers in the world all do a few things the SAME.
These photos show all types of pros, young, middle aged, old and fat, yet all of them have very similar positions at top of back swing, it creates the consistency that made them great golfers.
Trump was always a hack, period.
